79. You miss 100% of the shots that you don't take

Last weekend my 13 year old son was playing footy and marked the ball right before the siren was about to go. 

He was too far out to make a goal from the distance.

He made the split decision to play on and go for goal.

Take a chance. 

And guess what?

He missed.

Siren went and they lost the game. If he had made the goal they would of won. 

One of his teammates left the field in tears. 

On the way home he said to my hubby, 'Dad you miss a 100% of the goals that you don't go for'. This is a famous quote from Michael Jordan that he must of bumped into. 

He decided in that moment to give it a go. And he was proud of that decision. 

I urge you this week - make a run for the goals.

Apply for the job. 

Speak up in the meeting. 

Volunteer for the working group. 

Tell someone your career aspirations. 

Go after your goals. 

Don't be the person saying no to yourself. Let someone else do that. 

Say yes and guess what sometimes you will miss and someone might cry.

Maybe even you.
