Linkedin has over 930 million members and growing, it is the worlds largest professional social network.
It is growing rapidly at a rate of 3 new members every second! Wow.
Too many people worry what everyone is going to think of their posts on Linkedin. ‘I know that Gary who was in Sales is going to think that this is rubbish’.
Who cares.
If you left where you are working - are you going to be hanging out with Gary? Probably not.
1. Linkedin is not for your friends
Plan and simple - linkedin is to sell you.
It is to showcase what you are good at and why.
Imagine going into work this Tuesday and being told - 'Sorry Sam, we are making some team members redundant. Thank you very much for your excellent service. But we don't need your job anymore.
If you haven't been spending time on your network - what are you going to do?
Hit the job boards?
Check out my upcoming webinar this Friday.7 ways to land your dream job beyond the job boards
You have been nurturing your network then you won't need to hit the job boards. In-fact you will get hit up with a whole heap of jobs!
2. LinkedIn is to sell you.

Do you want to sell yourself to recruiters?
Sell your services?
930 million people is a lot of reach that you can get on LinkedIn! What are you waiting for?
I recently did my own experiment on LinkedIn.
I didn’t post much on LinkedIn. Perhaps the odd 'like' on someone’s post or sharing an article or even sharing a job in my team. Recently I decided to show up and share more on LinkedIn.
Can you see from the picture when I started posting.
And I have really been surprised.
185,000 impressions! This is from nothing!
